Concerto Foundation

The Alexandria Symphony Concerto Foundation is the ASO's capital fund, which can receive and hold gifts that will benefit the Symphony not just this year, but in the future.

Established by a group of symphony supporters under the leadership of Frank Quirk, a “supporting organization” as described in section 509(a)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, is off to an extremely successful first phase. As of September 1, 2007 we have raised over $200,000! The generosity of Frank and Betty Quirk led this effort. They pledged up to $100,000 to match donations of at least $5,000 to the Foundation.Those who accepted the match challenge with gifts of stock, cash, or three year pledges are:

Now the Concerto Foundation is about to enter the next phase of its existence. Donations to the Foundation are tax deductible just as donations to the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra (ASO) are. The Foundation has its own Articles of Incorporation, By-laws, and Board of Directors. The Foundation’s monies are managed separately and independently from the ASO funds.
